One of Sieben Energy Associates' recent retro-commissioning projects has been recognized as one of three finalists for the Michigan Governor's 2016 Energy Excellence Award.
During 2015, we worked closely with Matt Roman, Director of Global Facilities and Real Estate at Visteon, a leading global automotive supplier, to perform retro-commissioning of their Grace Lake Corporate Center headquarters in conjunction with DTE Energy's Retro-Commissioning Pilot Program. We nominated Matt and Visteon for this well-deserved award earlier this year. DTE Energy is the electric utility that serves Detroit and much of southeastern Michigan.
This project certainly generated award-worthy results in very little time. Starting in April 2015, we visited the site, collected and analyzed data, and identified and reviewed energy-saving measures. They selected and implemented the measures. By December 2015, they discovered that they had reduced electricity use by 2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh), exceeding their goal by 250%. Matt and his team were dedicated partners throughout the project. See the list of 2016 Award Finalists and Winners for a summary of our project and other finalists' projects.
The "Best Projects – Commercial (Private)" building category, for which this project is a finalist, attracted dozens of nominees. It is a profound honor to be designated one of three finalists. Winners will be named at an awards ceremony on August 11, and Sieben Energy Associates will be in attendance to support our client.
