As we reported on July 11, one of our retro-commissioning projects was a finalist for the Michigan Governor's 2016 Energy Excellence Award in the "Best Projects – Commercial (Private)" building category. We had nominated Matt Roman and Visteon for the award.
Unfortunately, they were not selected as the winner. The Odawa Casino Resort, owned by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians in Petoskey won the award.
But the ceremony was a roaring success nonetheless, and we enjoyed meeting some of the other finalists. During lunch, I was seated with Matt Roman and his wife Kim, along with Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, and others, including representatives from DTE Energy and Nexant, the retro-commissioning program administrator. We had the opportunity to brief Governor Snyder on the results of the Grace Lake Corporate Center retro-commissioning project. Matt made a big point of giving kudos to Sieben Energy Associates for our work on the assignment.
